Roasting raw nuts is simple, fast and very yummy. A lot of recipes for holiday nuts have sickly sweet syrupy stuff on them, but this simple, savory Tamari coating is healthy and delicious. I roast a batch of Almonds and Cashews to have around during the holidays so snacking on sweets and chocolate doesn’t get out of hand. I toss these into gift bags with some Smoked Cheddar Crackers and a bottle of Organic Wine for hostess gifs that are not cookies or chocolate. You can use Almonds, Cashews or Pecans for this “recipe”. If it has less than 2 steps and two ingredients I don’t consider it a recipe but more of a healthy food idea. Make a big batch of these nuts for movie snacking…I love tossing these Tamari Roasted Cashews in with some Organic Popcorn, popped old fashioned like on the stove top with some coconut oil or ghee in a big pot with a lid. Sprinkle the whole batch with some herb salt and you have healthy movie snacks for the whole family….OK so my kids like to toss in some chocolate chips for a sweet and savory version but that works too.
